Here's a list of regular community event that you can find Ian at from time to time:

The Vulcan Spin and Juggle jam, every Wednesday 8:30pm - 12am. 4401 San Leandro St. #25; Oakland, CA.

One of the best attended jams in the bay. An inside jam, unit 56 at the Vulcan host a free spin jam every Wednesday. A relaxed and techie vibe pervade this jam. A great place to learn new skills. Contact Greg at gregmaldonado at gmail dot com for information on parking and how to get in if you haven't been there before.

"Spin Jam", 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month; City Dance studio, 10 Colton St.; San Francisco, CA

A continuation of the longest running spin jam in the Bay Area. Spin Jam boasts a large space, a live DJ and lots of led lights. A bit of a party atmosphere and a $5-10 suggested donation to cover rent (no one turned away). You can join the mailing list to get reminders about this jam at SpinJamSF Google Group

The Grove Fire Jam, Every Tuesday night from dark to 10pm, AIDS memorial Grove, Golden Gate Park.

The only fire jam in the Bay Area at the moment. The Grove is a unorganized gathering that has been happening for a long time. Attendance fluctuates widely at this dark venue.

Contact Improv at CounterPulse Jam, 8pm-11pm; $5; 1310 Mission St. San Francisco, CA

A great contact improv jam in the city, it follows a class held by rotating teachers. Visit Counterpulse.org for details.

Ecstatic Dance, Every Sun 10:30am-1pm and Wed. 7:30pm - 10:30pm at the Historic Sweets Ballroom 1933 Broadway, Oakland

Ecstatic Dance is: a freeform conscious dance where...movement expands, spirit activates, boundaries melt, boredom ceases, creativity breaks out, hope happens, beauty flows, communities collaborate, ritual is reinvented, harmony resonates, the beat deepens, as an electronic tapestry of world rhythms weave us together as individuals within a greater family.
There are only two guidelines: No conversation on the dance floor and move however you want.
