I am a Dad, filmmaker, and music artist. I leverage my skills in the arts as a UX designer.
I have been telling stories since I took chalk from my sister.
Every crispy video, wireframe, batch of bread, or LEGO build I make either comes from a place of fun or captures layers of meaning. Since as far back as I can remember, I have never gotten bored of trying new things.
My parents chose to educate me at home among my extended family of sculptors, creative directors, and portrait artists. The midwestern woods were my playground. Calvin and Hobbes were my playmates and my head lay deep in the wilderness. I would often rise before the sun and finish my schoolwork by breakfast. The rest of the day I called "recess," and I would write plays and host radio shows with my sibling, build industrial sculptures with Uncle Mike, or paint in the studio with mom.
My art mediums continued growing with a pencil in my hand, an instrument, and then a camera. In 2015, I faced a financial crisis as an artist and found jobs to supply my freelance career. These awful experiences ended up coloring my world as a waiter, barista, bartender - even as a boat driver and paraprofessional behavioral analyst. In making ends meet, I was met with memorable work environments, people with stories different from mine, and tragedies. Subsequently, I evolved as a more inclusive and loving human being.
In 2020, something in me was activated and my focus singularly fell on the word 'design.' I realized a passion for bringing frustrating online experiences to life and using my obsessive sight to improve successful interactions with data and research. Now I use my background in the arts to storytell exceptional digital experiences on the internet.
As a UX designer, filmmaker, and music artist, I aim to channel the same excitement from my early years. I offer clients professionalism that comes from a decade of adding to collaborative environments. In everything I do, I never give up and move challenges forward with informed optimism.
